Day 1: Rivière-Au-Tonnerre

Between Sept-Iles and Rivière-au-Tonnerre, on the “Route des baleines”, we suggest a stop at the magnificent Manitou waterfalls. Upon your arrival in the village of Rivière-au-Tonnerre, you will be greeted with a complimentary cocktail made with regional products at the Voyages Coste office.

A guide will then accompany you for a visit of the only Norman-style historical church in Quebec, which was built by over 300 volunteers. This Coaster will tell you about the history of the village and stories about the region. Visit the falls that gave the village its name and take the time to visit the Maison de la Chicoutai.

Accommodation: L’Escale Lam-Air (2*)

Day 2: Rivière-Au-Tonnerre | Havre-Saint-Pierre (106km)

After your continental breakfast (included), head east towards Havre-St-Pierre. We recommend that you stop at the lookout in Magpie overlooking the Gulf and/or at the site of the hydro-electric dam.

You will then travel through the villages of Rivière-Saint-Jean and Longue-Pointe-de-Mingan. When in Mingan, enjoy a guided tour of the Maison de la Culture Innue. This cultural centre is inspired from the first nations traditional lifestyle. The centre also hosts a permanent exhibition and a craft shop. Continue your drive to Havre-Saint-Pierre, and visit the Maison de la culture Roland Jomphe.

Make your way to the tourist information kiosk in Pélagie Cormier Centre (1010 Promenade des Anciens) to pick up the audioguide that you will listen to on your way to Natashquan tomorrow. Check-in at 12:45pm for the 1 pm boarding for your guided boat tour (3½ hour long) of the Mingan Archipelago National Park Reserve and its breathtaking monoliths.

Meals: continental breakfast included, lunch and dinner on your own
Accommodation at l'Hôtel du Havre (2*)

Day 3 ‒ Havre-Sant-Pierre | Aguanish | Natashquan (160km)

After your continental breakfast, make your way to Natashquan with your audioguide. Great photo opportunity at the round mountain for a unique view of Havre St-Pierre. At Baie-Johan Beetz is an opportunity to photograph the historical “Château”.

Continue your drive to Aquanish. We strongly recommend having lunch at the Fumoir le Goynish before your next discovery. At 1:00 pm, depart for a guided excursion on the Aguanus River to the canyon called “Trait de scie”. You will be transported to this impressive natural attraction aboard a motorized watercraft. Then, make your way to Natashquan for a meeting with a coaster.

Meals: continental breakfast included, lunch and dinner on your own
Accommodation : L'Auberge le Port d'Attache (2*)

Day 4: Natashquan | Kegaska | Natashquan

After a breakfast at your inn, drive to the tourist information centre for a visit of the "Bord du Cap" and the Vieille École of Natashquan (old schoolhouse), which highlights the works of Gilles Vigneault.

Later on, we suggest you make your way to Kegaska, the first village of the Lower North Shore to be linked to the rest of Quebec by the road 138.

Day 5: Natashquan | Longue-Pointe-de-Mingan (206km)

The Mingan Island Cetacean Study welcomes you at 9:30 am, 10:45 am, 1:15 pm or 3:00 pm for a visit at its interpretation centre. We also suggest you take a boat tour (approximately 3-hour long) to some of the exceptional sites for observing marine birds and mammals in the western sector of the Mingan Archipelago.

This guided tour includes l’ile aux Perroquets and l’ile Nue.
