Day 1: Journey to La Romaine

You will board the Bella-Desgagnés and leave the village of Kegaska in the direction of La Romaine (Unamen Shipu). The duration of the cruise is 4h30 minutes. You will be welcomed to the dock by your Innu host and brought to either Madame Ruby's motel or the Innuberge cabin for this first night.

Day 2: Tour and first experience

You will be taken on a guided community tour with your Innu guide by vehicle. In the morning, discover the Reserve, including the Band Council, the church, the hospital, the airport, the school, the residential neighborhoods. Lunch will take place at the hotel restaurant. In the afternoon, meet two Innu craftswomen and leave for Apinipehekat Island (meaning "the narrow passage of the East) on the coast of the Gulf of St. Lawrence. Sleep in a traditional Innu tent and have a traditional dinner with your Native American hosts.

Day 3: Sea experience and lobster meal

Discover the sea along the coast and through the string of islands while aboard the zodiac. Unamen Shipu fishing in the traditional way lobsters. Enjoy the traditional know-how. Enjoy a lobster meal in an Innu tent. The maritime odyssey will allow you to discover the rich fauna and flora of the islands courtesy of an Innu professional guide. Note: Lobster season is from Mai 15- July 15. Between July 16 and September 15 the fishing demonstration for lobster is replaced by berry picking on the islands.

Day 4: Last Innu experiences and farewells

Enjoy breakfast and a leisurely morning to experience Innu culture and traditions on your isolated island. After lunch, depart on-board the Bella Desgagnés for the cruise back to Kegaska, which is scheduled for 4:15 pm. Goodbye to your new Innu friends from Unamen Shipu.
