Introduction

This is where the Route Blanche truly shines! Voyages Coste, the agency specializing in snowmobile tours in Minganie and on the Lower North Shore, will assist you remotely and watch over you as a social and solidarity economy business.

Traveling 1,000 kilometers by snowmobile on trails maintained by Transport Québec is no small feat! This is an adventure, an expedition enriched by learning and encounters with local inhabitants.

Pre-departure Information:

DAY 1: NATASHQUAN

Arrival in Natashquan, the birthplace of poet-songwriter Gilles Vigneault, a village known for its cultural tourism. Stay at Auberge La Cache.

Day 2NATASHQUAN / HARRINGTON HARBOUR (216 KM)

Breakfast at your inn before embarking on the Route Blanche. Head to the village parking lot in Kegaska, where you’ll leave your trailer for the duration of your Route Blanche package.

Depart from Kegaska toward Chevery, passing through La Romaine/Unamen Shipu (200 km). You can stop for lunch along the way, either in a survival camp or at a restaurant in the villages you visit. Next, head to the island of Harrington Harbour (14 km), a charming Anglophone village on the Lower North Shore. Upon arrival, check in at the Jean Boarding House Inn. Harrington Harbour is a typical Quebec village. As the filming location for the movie Seducing Doctor Lewis, there are no vehicles in the village except snowmobiles and ATVs. Your host, Mrs. Jeans, a Newfoundlander by heritage, will prepare a delicious dinner.

Day 3HARRINGTON HARBOUR/BLANC-SABLON (294 KM)

After breakfast at the inn, take a stroll through the village, which features wooden boardwalks. Enjoy a 10-minute helicopter tour over the Harrington Harbour region, then depart for La Tabatière. Stop at Baie-des-Moutons to photograph the picturesque village from the hilltop (80 km). Continue toward Pakua Shipi / Saint-Augustin (40 km) on increasingly rugged terrain. Stop for a meal at a restaurant in the village of Saint-Augustin. Continue to Vieux-Fort (88 km). Arrive in Vieux Fort and visit the general store. You are now in the municipality of Bonne-Espérance. Depart for Blanc-Sablon via Rivière-Saint-Paul and Middle Bay (83 km). Arrive in Blanc-Sablon in the late afternoon and check in at Auberge Motel Quatre Saisons. Dinner in a village restaurant.

DAY 4BLANC-SABLON/BONNE-ESPÉRANCE (83 KM)

After breakfast at your inn, depart for Rivière-St-Paul. Meet a local Coster and visit the Whiteley Museum. Lunch is planned at a village restaurant, followed by an off-trail expedition with a local guide certified by Aventure Écotourisme Québec standards. Explore the Rivière-St-Paul archipelago. Return to the village of Rivière-St-Paul and check in at the Whiteley Inn.
Dinner at the inn.

DAY 5BONNE-ESPÉRANCE/TÊTE À LA BALEINE (190 KM)

After breakfast at the inn, depart for Tête-à-la-Baleine (190 KM). Lunch along the way, followed by a guided tour of the Toutes-Iles Archipelago with a local guide certified by Aventure Écotourisme Québec standards (tourist attractions). Stay overnight and have dinner at Auberge de l’Archipel.

Day 6TÊTE-À-LA-BALEINE/NATASHQUAN (254 KM)

After breakfast at the inn, return to Natashquan. Plan for a packed lunch, which you can enjoy along the way. You will arrive in Natashquan in the afternoon. Check in at Auberge La Cache.

DAY 7NATASHQUAN

Breakfast at the inn. Prepare your snowmobiles for loading onto trailers before heading home via Route 138.

Your package includes:

  • 6 nights of accommodation in inns, bed and breakfasts, or hotels, depending on availability
  • 6 breakfasts, 1 lunch (Jean Boarding House), and 3 dinners (Jean Boarding House, Whiteley Inn, and Auberge de l'Archipel)
  • Visit to the Whiteley Museum, followed by a one-hour meeting with a local Coster
  • Outing in the Bonne-Espérance Archipelago with a local guide certified by Aventure Écotourisme Québec standards
  • 10-minute helicopter flight over Harrington Harbour

Your package does not include:

General Terms and Conditions

Lodging taxes, GST, and QST are not included. 100% of the reservation amount will be charged to your credit card on the day of booking. The total reservation amount is non-refundable, but if you need to cancel, to access a refund, please subscribe to the cancellation protection available at the final booking step.
