Coste Travel has created a delightful combination of a short trip with an air transfer, allowing you to fully enjoy your 3-night stay on Harrington Harbour Island. Come and experience a peaceful adventure in the heart of the Lower North Shore, an unexplored region of maritime Québec!
Strolling along the wooden boardwalks that serve as streets, past white and pastel-painted houses in a small English-speaking village that feels like Newfoundland, is an experience in itself.
The islands and coastline of the Gulf of Saint Lawrence, in a highly iodine-rich Québec, will charm you with their splendour.
Once you arrive in Harrington Harbour, a taxi will be waiting to take you to your guesthouse. Welcomed by your host, the owner of the guesthouse, you will have the rest of the day free to gently settle into your new surroundings.
Your host will prepare a hearty meal featuring fresh seafood from the local seafood processing cooperative, which you will have the opportunity to visit during your stay.
Guided walking tour of Harrington Harbour with a local English-speaking guide. Interpretation of the village’s features, including its wooden boardwalks, bridges, Christ Church, the Jacques Cartier monument, Marguerite’s Cave (linked to the unique story of the niece of the Sieur de Roberval), and the fascinating Rowsell House Interpretation Centre. Your guide will point out the main filming locations from the movie The Grand Seduction.
After the tour with your guide, you’ll have a picnic basket prepared by your host and can head up the island to enjoy the stunning views of the archipelago. Enjoy the sights, sounds of the sea, and seabirds while savouring your locally flavoured picnic. Free afternoon and seafood dinner at your guesthouse.
After breakfast, an early morning departure at 7:00 a.m. by water taxi to Chevery. You’ll be greeted at the village dock by your guide, who will show you the youngest village on the Lower North Shore. From Cross River to Nétagamiou Falls, you’ll discover the natural beauty of this rich region, where time follows the rhythm of the seasons. Depending on the season, you can pick the area’s typical berries, such as cloudberries, crowberries, blueberries, or lingonberries.
After lunch, your guide will take you back to the dock to catch the ferry to Québec’s most picturesque village, Harrington Harbour. Upon arrival, you can wander the island’s wooden boardwalks at your leisure.
Dinner will be served at your guesthouse.
