On the Whale Route towards Rivière-au-Tonnerre (121 km), you are entering Minganie. Stop at Manitou River (km 1088) to admire its cascades and impressive waterfall (the hiking trail includes stairs to help with steep sections). Upon your arrival in Thunder River, the Coste Travel cooperative team will welcome you at their office, located at 454, Jacques-Cartier (Route 138). Check out the village’s wooden semi-cathedral, a Norman-style church built by 300 volunteers.

You absolutely must ride on a long sandy beach in Minganie. This is a highlight of the trip and an unforgettable experience! You can finally enjoy fat biking in a surprising environment. Want to experience the fine sand of the North Shore and ride over some rocks? The Havre-St-Pierre area offers this opportunity! The beach is very easy to ride on. Further east (near the end of the trail), there is a small creek that might require you to push the bike to cross. The cliffs are very impressive.
